Grow the 'Original' sweet pea for it's fragrance which will stop you in your tracks!  I like to grow this diminutive sweet pea (it usually only reaches about 4-5 feet tall) along a walk way or close to a sitting area so that you can enjoy its fragrance to the fullest.  I find that the flowers don't last in a vase so best enjoyed in your garden.  It will go to seed very quickly so deadhead frequently for prolonged blooming.  This is the genuine wild sweet pea from which all other sweet peas have been bred. 

The seed was collected in Sicily in the 1970s by Dr. Keith Hammett.

Similar to the sweet pea varieties 'Cupani' and 'Matucana'.
