Mustard Katan Silk Suit, Pink & Blue Floral Print | Bagiya
Pink and blue flowers sit sparingly on mustard, leaving the colour room to breathe.
Why this piece
- Sparse placed print on the top, a fuller repeat on the dupatta
- Raw fringed edge on the dupatta, no trim needed
- Colour-fast: pink and blue hold their own against the mustard
The print
Most block print fills the cloth. This one does the opposite. The top carries flowers at wide intervals so the mustard reads as a solid from a few steps away, and the dupatta takes the fuller repeat.
Pink and blue against mustard is a contrast pairing rather than a tonal one, which is why the flowers read as separate objects instead of texture.
Wearing it
This is the set for someone who finds most printed suits too busy. Stitch it plain, let the mustard carry the outfit, and add oxidised silver rather than gold so the pink stays the accent. It handles office and daily wear without looking like an occasion piece.
A sparse print is harder to sell in a photograph and easier to wear in life, and on silk the empty ground is what shows the sheen.

Small shifts in the print, a motif set a little off its neighbour, a shade that deepens where the block pressed twice: these are the marks of a hand at work, not flaws in the cloth.
